“L’EURO dB” : Incidence de la normalisation européenne sur les pratiques acoustiques françaises

  After the first of January 2000, the modifications in european standardization, due to free circulation of products, will bring up changes in the professional practices of french technicians in charge of noise problems in building. Those evolutions can be seen from two differents points of view : the substance and the form. With regard to the substance, nothing is going to change. As in the monetary domain, if tomorrow we pay our loaf of bread about 0.63 EURO, the same floor covering will go up from a ΔL of 14 dB(A) to a ΔLW of 17 dB. Even if the indicators change, even if the values are not the same for products qualifications , regulation or contractual requirements, the solutions are alike in terms of means and costs. One must only admit that we have entered a new refrences system in which the unit could be baptized ‘EURO dB”.
